How do I set up a patient to access the Patient Portal?

PracticeStudio allows users to upload documents (primarily "CCD" encounter records) to a secure online patient portal website.  Whenever a document is uploaded to the patient portal, the patient will receive an e-mail (if they have a valid e-mail address specified in PracticeStudio) notifying them of the upload and instructing them on how to access the portal.  

The following information is required of the patient before they can access the patient portal:

  1. Date of Birth
  2. Social Security #
  3. Postal Code
  4. Pin Number
  5. A valid email address in PracticeStudio (in order to receive the notification e-mails)

All of the above information is specified in the patient's Patient Registration record inside of PracticeStudio:

To set the patient PIN:

  1. Select Online Patient Portal / Kiosk under the More button at the top of the Patient Registration page:
    More Menu

  2. The default PIN is 12345, but may be changed to whatever the patient chooses by entering the desired PIN and selecting Update Online Profile:
